Just recently, we had a tea party in our house. And because I am one of those people who loves to throw a party, we had to have a few crafts on the agenda. The first activity that the girls tackled upon arrival was the creation of a Mad Hatter DIY headband fascinator.
- Darice Black Top Hat (1 per guest)
- Darice Black Ribbon Wrapped Headband (1 per guest)
- Various Darice Ribbon
- Darice Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Assorted Gems
- Darice Assorted Craft Feathers
- Fabulousness (You just can’t help it!)
To set up our Mad Hatter DIY headband station, I grabbed my stash of ribbons and spread them on the table. Everyone has their own favorite, but the contrast of the black and white ribbon was easily a favorite among the guests.
Gemstones and feathers are the perfect “cherry on top” of the hat. Some girls added gems all over their hats, while others were more understated.
However, our guests were not all accustomed to the burning-heat of a glue gun nozzle, so parent assistance was much appreciated!
Whether it’s a tea party for 8 year olds, or a Mad Hatter DIY party theme for the grown-ups in your life, this craft is a simple and fun one for your party guests!
