I can’t believe that summer break has come and gone and a new school year is about to begin. It seems like we were just looking forward to long days by the pool, eating popsicles, and making memories and now we’re elbow deep in school supply shopping! I thought it would be nice to come up with some teacher gifts DIY ideas to thank them in advance for all the hard work they’ll be doing for the next 9 months. This back to school notepad set is inexpensive to buy, only takes a few minutes to make, and with the free printable gift tag I’ve included below, is a super cute way to start the year!
- Magnetic Notepad
- Oh So Trendy! Zebra Ribbon

Step 1. This teacher gifts DIY tutorial is so easy that you really don’t need any steps but just in case you’re a picture person like me, you can follow along. Start by printing out the Free “Take Note!” Labels, trim around the edge and add a hole punch to the top. The labels come 6 to a page so you’re sure to have enough for all the important teachers in your kids’ lives!
Step 2. Cut two equal lengths of coordinating ribbon and tie around the notepad. Clip the pen in place.
Step 3. Use the baker’s twine to attach the Take Note! label and you’re done!
See? I told you these teacher gifts DIY notepads were going to be crazy easy to put together! I love that they’re a nice looking gift set that is also practical because who doesn’t need a magnetic notepad, especially when you’ve got a couple dozen little kids to look after! Plus, each of these little gifts cost about $3.00 in supplies to make. Perfect for when you’ve got a number of teachers you want to give gifts to. Hope you enjoy making this project and have a wonderful school year!
