Now that wedding season is in full force, it’s time to roll out the flower projects. So, why not go big? Literally! This oversized paper flower DIY will make a statement on a budget. I can see this stealing the show as a photo shoot prop, ceremony decoration, or even down the aisle. But don’t let the lengthy tutorial scare you off. It’s really easy to make, and super hard to mess up. The petals don’t even need to look perfect. Ready to learn how to make a tissue paper flower? Here’s how!
- Darice Assorted Tissue Paper (3 colors plus green)
- Darice Craft Scissors
- Aleene’s Mini Tacky Glue
- Empty Paper Towel Tubes (3)
- Darice Green Cloth Covered Wire (3)
- Watercolor Paints
- Darice Paint Brush
- Darice Hot Glue Gun
Step 7. With the second sheet, repeat steps 3 to 6 to make four medium petals. Then with the third sheet, repeat once more to make four small petals. With the fourth sheet, repeat to make another four large petals. Keep one, and set the rest aside for back up. (Tissue paper does rip easily, after all.)
Step 16. Take a second strand and twist it around the bottom and top (left). Repeat with a third strand, on the other side (right). Bend the wire so that it’s wider at the bottom. Twist the ends in place and cut away the excess.
