Hello, creative friends! Who is ready for some color this season?? Winter has been so blah at our house, so I wanted to share a fun fringed party backdrop idea that looks great any time of year. This DIY crepe paper backdrop was super inexpensive to make, and I was able to cut and hang up the whole thing in under two hours. Woot!
This DIY crepe paper backdrop can be customized with any colors you wish. Darice has all kinds of pretty crepe paper sheet colors, so you can easily coordinate with your event.
DIY Crepe Paper Backdrop Supplies:
To get started, take your crepe paper sheet out of the packaging and leave it in it’s original rolled up form. Measure the length, and divide it into thirds. Cut along your measurements, creating three pieces.
This is definitely a Netflix project! It’s a lot of cutting, but I promise it will go fast! After you finish one side, repeat on the opposite side so you have matching slits on both sides of your strip.
I made some matching yarn pom-poms to decorate my table and cake with similar colors.
Let me know if you give this DIY crepe paper backdrop a try and what colors you end up picking! There are so many great options with Darice crepe paper sheets! Leftover scraps can be used to make these darling DIY crepe paper flower place card holders.
