Christmas time really is such a wonderful time of year! I love the cozy feel of it, the giving season, and I love the decorations for it. This year I decided to put together this paper Christmas tree decor to add to my already fun Christmas holiday decorations. Today, I’m going to show you just how simple these are to put together.
Paper Christmas Tree Decor Supplies:
- Darice Cardstock.
- Glitter Cardstock .
- Darice 11 inch Paper Mache Cone.
- Darice 7 inch Paper Mache Cone.
- Tag Punch.
- Linen Ribbon.
- Scissors.
- Darice Hot Glue Gun.
Step 1. To begin your paper Christmas tree project, cut your paper into 1 1/2 x 12 inch strips.
Step 2. Use your punch to punch out the tag shape from the strips of paper.
Step 3. Do this with all three colors of paper.
Step 4. Using the hot glue gun, start gluing the tags to the bottom of your paper mache cone.
Step 5. Work in layers, moving upward to the top of the cone.
Step 6. Once you get to the top of the cone, use the scissors to trim the sides of the punched tags. You may also want to use something to curl the tags to fit the cone shape.
Step 7. Use the hot glue to attach the last of the tags to the top of the cone.
Step 8. Use the linen ribbon to tie a bow. Attach the bow to the top of the tree using hot glue.
Step 9. Repeat as needed to finish as many trees as you’d like to create. The look of the paper Christmas tree can vary, depending on what order you glue the tags on.
This paper Christmas tree tutorial really doesn’t take too long to make. These tree will be a beautiful addition to any Christmas decor on a shelf, mantel, or table. For an alternative project idea, these paper cones can also be transformed into DIY Christmas tree votives.
