I’m excited to share with you an easy and fun craft that makes great packaging for party favors and small gifts. Homemade doily cones are so pretty, and are much easier to make than they look! They can be easily customized to fit your party theme or colors, and can be filled with anything small to make a thoughtful little gift. Here’s how to make paper cones!
How to Make Paper Cones Tutorial Supplies:
- Martha Stewart Crafts Circle Edge Punch Starter Kit
- Martha Stewart Circle Edge Punches (in various designs)
- Patterned Paper
- Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive
- Small Candy
Step 1. Choose a design that you would like to use from the patterned paper stack. Follow the directions that came with the circle edge punch to create a paper doily. You can choose any size between 6-12 inches to make your doily with this set. I chose to make mine all 11 inches.
Step 2. Cut your doily into thirds, just like if you were slicing a pie into 3 large pieces.
Step 3. Roll the doily piece into a cone, so that the pointy part is on the bottom, and the doily design is at the top. Overlap the edges a bit, and then apply the quick dry glue to one edge. Adhere both sides together, and hold for about 10 seconds to allow the glue to dry.
This how to make paper cones process goes pretty quickly, since you can get 3 doily cones out of just one large doily. Anyone would be happy to get one of these pretty cones filled with sweet treats at a party, or as a sweet little gift.
I hope you enjoyed this how to make paper cones tutorial – Happy crafting!
