Halloween is going to be here before we know it. Can you believe it?! I love Halloween paper crafts and I had fun putting this cute pumpkin and bat banner together. It’s got me pretty excited about the upcoming holiday.
Halloween Paper Crafts Banner Supplies:
- Dotted Cardtock- Orange.
- Darice Cardstock- Purple.
- Darice Cardstock- Black.
- Banner Punch Board (optional).
- Darice Baker’s Twine.
- Green Ribbon.
- Adhesive (I used Glue Dots).
- Scissors.
- Darice Hot Glue Gun.
- Electronic Die Cutting Machine (optional).
Step 1. Cut your banner pieces by using the banner punch board. I cut mine to 4.5 inches.
Step 2. Punch the holes in the top of your banner pieces.
Step 3. Use the Sand-it Gadget to sand the edges of your banner pieces, revealing the white core. This tool adds a weathered look, perfect for these Halloween paper crafts.
Step 4. Cut a 1″ x 12″ strip of the orange small dot paper.
Step 5. Score your strip of paper every 1/4 of an inch. Accordion fold the strip of paper.
Step 6. Connect the ends of your folded strip of paper, creating a circle.
Step 7. Punch out a circle, smaller than your accordion folded paper that is now a circle. Place a fair amount of hot glue on the circle (black) and then fold the top of the folded circle in toward the center, on top of the hot glue circle.
Step 8. Once the glue dries, your orange dot paper should look like this.
Step 9. With scraps from cutting out your banner triangles, hand cut jack-o-lantern faces. Use adhesive to apply them to the front of your circle.
Step 10. Use foam dimensional squares on the back of your jack-o-lantern, and add a little stem with green ribbon.
Step 11. Cut out some bats. I used my electronic die cutting machine for this, but you could probably free hand cut these as well. Once I had the bats cut, I distressed them using the Sand-it Gadget.
Step 12. Follow steps 4-8 above for your purple circles, and then adhere the bat to it. These cute pumpkin and bat circles could be used to decorate other Halloween paper crafts as well!
Step 13. Once you have all of your circles finished, you can apply them to the banner triangles, using the foam dimension squares you placed on the back.
Step 14. Use the baker’s twine to string your banner together.
This banner really was a fun one to put together! The jack-o-lantern faces turned out so fun, and the flying bats with them make this one of the best Halloween paper crafts I’ve made so far this year.
The center of the circle even makes for a cute round nose for the jack-o-lantern.
