Hi crafting friends, it’s Natalie from Doodlecraft. Here to help you get a head start on your new year with these especially fabulous handmade birthday card ideas for everyone on your list. These washi tape birthday card ideas are simple to make in mass quantities so you are ready for every birthday that comes during 2018. Do you send birthday cards? I usually start out the new year thinking I will, but by the time mid year comes I lose the momentum. Having a pile of cards quickly ready to go for the year will keep that momentum going all year. By all means, a big stack of birthday cards and envelopes make a great gift for someone too! No bulky embellishments make these cards uniquely designed for air mail with just one single stamp affixed to the envelope.
Washi Tape Birthday Card Ideas Project Supplies:
- Blank White Cards and Envelopes
- Birthday Stamps/Acrylic Block
- Black Ink
- Sakura® Glaze Pens
- Darice Washi Tape
- Cardstock
- Scissors or Paper Cutter
- Darice Foam Tape
Begin by arranging your clear stamps on an acrylic block. Then press on the black ink and then press the image on the white cardstock paper. In like manner, re-ink and stamp again. Fill the cardstock with multiple stamped designs, leaving some space between the sentiments for easy cutting later.
Stamp different images multiple times as can be seen below. After the ink dries, color the details with the glaze pens.
Next, use scissors or a paper cutter to cut the images into single pieces.
Next take the card and add strips of colorful washi tape over it. Let the edges be rough and uneven. Allow some white space to show here and there.
Now, use scissors to cut any excess washi tape from the edges.
Finally, add a strip of foam tape to the backside of the stamped birthday image. And straightaway, adhere the sentiment to the top of the washi tape card.
Repeat in like manner, for as many cards as you need for the year.
Getting them all knocked out quickly will make life easier next year. These birthday card ideas are simple enough for using the help of older children too.
Enjoy getting ahead on your new year!
