Do your kids LOVE dinosaurs as much as mine? Make a dinosaur DIY terrarium with them! This is a FUN craft and a great piece of decor for their room, a real win win!! You can change colors around and this project can be for a boy or girl, maybe add some mini unicorns or bugs.
While browsing the Darice site I came across this House Shaped Terrarium and I asked my son if this is what he wanted to use. He had a BIG smile on his face and said YES mom! So I just had to get it for him, but you can use any type of terrarium you want.
Let’s get started!
Make a Dinosaur Terrarium Supplies:
- Darice House Shape Glass Terrarium
- Darice Decorative Black Sand
- Floral Moss
- Flocked Moss Faux Stones
- Darice Succulents
- Darice Plastic Dinosaurs
Step 1. Start off by having the kids add their sand first. I had several different color options but my son thought black would be the best color. You can add as much or as little as you like.
Step 2. Next we added some fun floral moss, this bag gave us a lot of different colors and textures for our DIY Terrarium.
Step 3. Of course any DIY terrarium needs some greenery. These faux succulents are a perfect touch. I found some great small ones, that fit right in.
Step 4. These faux moss covered rocks were another great touch, and really filled in some empty spots.
Step 5. Of course our main attraction, the dinosaurs! We picked out some bright colored dinosaurs and just placed them inside.
Make a dinosaur terrarium with your kids and you have a simple project that can be completed in about 10 minutes. Perfect for kids of any age.
Looking for another dinosaur themed craft? I’ve been working on my son’s dinosaur themed room, and our most recent project was this DIY dino art. This was another project we worked on together for his room. He loves to be a part of the decorating! Who wouldn’t right??!
