KID’S SUGAR COOKIE CRAFT SUPPLIES:
- Darice Unfinished 3.25 inch Wood Circles
- Darice Kid Craft Scissors
- Tulip Puffy Paint
- Darice Felties Felt Glue
- Darice Felt Sheets (We used blue, green and purple)
Step 1. First things first. If your wood pieces have stickers on them {like ours did} remove them.
At this point in time, if desired, go ahead and paint your wood circle pieces a light shade of brown.
I personally felt like the natural look of our wood pieces looked more like sugar cookies, so I left ours bare but you are more than welcome to change this step up. Once done, set aside your wood pieces.
Step 2. Next grab your craft felt. Using scissors, cut out “frosting” blobs for each wood cookie you are making. If you like, you can use circular objects to trace for this step but I went ahead and free-styled our pieces.
Step 3. Glue your craft felt “frosting” to the center of your wood pieces.
Step 4. Now grab your puffy paint. Add dots all over the glued-on felt pieces to create “sprinkles” on the cookies. You can also add squiggles, lines, words (etc.) for a custom look. If desired, you can also add glitter, rhinestones, buttons etc on top of the wet paint.
Step 5. Once done, set aside your finished wood sugar cookie pieces in an undisturbed area to allow them to dry completely. Then display/play with proudly!!!
Isn’t this pretend play cookie craft simply fabulous?! My son has loved playing with his new set and I hope your child will love theirs too!
