As summer comes to an end and kids are heading back to school, it’s certainly not too early to start thinking about teacher gifts for the holidays. What could be more fitting for a teacher who likes to stay organized and prepared than this adorable DIY pencil holder? It can be personalized and gifted to anyone, but your child’s teacher will especially cherish this affordable and easy-to-make handmade gift.
DIY Pencil Holder for Teachers Supplies:
- 1 Mason Jar
- Darice 2″ Burlap Ribbon
- Darice Blank Chalkboard Ornament
- Darice Timeless Minis Pencil Holder
- Darice Hot Glue Gun
- Chalk Pen
Step 1. Use your hot glue gun and burlap ribbon to begin decorating the mason jar. All you need is a small strip that will fit around the jar. This adds a nice rustic touch to it and creates a background and space for the chalkboard ornament to rest on.
Step 2. Also using your hot glue gun, add a touch to the back of your chalkboard ornament and glue to the front of the mason jar after you’ve finished decorating with burlap ribbon or your ribbon of choice.
Step 3. To complete your DIY pencil holder, add a touch of hot glue to the back of your miniature pencil holder and glue it to the bottom left corner of the chalkboard ornament. Finally, write your child’s teachers name on the chalkboard ornament using your chalk pen and fill with writing utensils!
This DIY pencil holder is the perfect back to school or Christmas gift for any teacher and can be personalized for anyone using different ribbon and accents. Create and customize one using your favorite ribbon for your own desk space or to keep makeup-brushes and other accessories organized in your bathroom.
