Create a stylish summer look with a delicate gold touch and fun earthy gemstones in this DIY anklet tutorial!
I’m super excited to share this fun little DIY anklet tutorial with you today that you can make in an afternoon. This project is relatively simple if you’ve made jewelry before but if not, you may want to start with something a little more basic!
Gemstone DIY Anklet Supplies:
- Jump Rings
- Chain
- Two Connector Beads
- Three Gemstones
- Closures
- Jewelry Pliers
- Wire Cutters
- Jewelry Wire
- Tape Measure
First step is to measure out your gold chain. I made mine 10.5 inches after measuring it around my ankle. I ended up trimming it some more at the end so always measure a little more then trim it if you need.
Next I cut the piece in three equal pieces.
Now you will open up some large jump rings and connect the circle beads to the chain portion.
Continue this with all three chains.
Loop your wire through the little gemstone bead multiple times and then twist the two edges to secure it.
Take a small jump ring and loop the ring onto the chain and through the wire. I tried to get at least two wires through the jump ring.
Continue this through the next two gems and you are all done with the base of your DIY anklet!
At this point I would suggest putting it around your ankle and seeing if you like the size. I ended up trimming mine about an inch on both ends. Now you will use your jump rings to attach the closures to both ends of the DIY anklet.
This turned out really cute! I’ve seen a lot of anklets that are pretty close to impossible to see and this one is a little more bold. It’s perfect if you’re heading to the beach or plan to spend a lot of time at the pool this summer!

I don’t think style has to be sacrificed for price! I love creating DIYs that don’t look homemade and look deceptively expensive. Practical and Pretty began because I said ‘I could make that!’ so often that I decided to finally do it, and document my process.
