With just a few supplies, you can create a pair of fun and flirty hoop chain earrings. Dress them up for a night out, or wear them with a plain white t-shirt for a laid-back, boho vibe. This project also features basic jewelry techniques that are great for beginner crafters!
Fringe Chain Earrings Supplies:
- Antique Copper Chain
- Gunmetal Chain
- Darice 4mm Faceted Fire Polished Glass Beads in Gunmetal Gray
- Darice Silver Plated 36mm Earring Hoops (2)
- Darice Black 1″ Eye Pins
- Darice Hematite Jump Rings (4mm and 6mm)
- Darice 3-in-1 Jewelry Pliers
Step 1. Add one bead to an eye pin.
Step 2. Using the jewelry pliers, trim the eye pin just under 1/2 inch away from the bead. Bend the wire outwards.
Step 3. Using the round nosed tip of the jewelry pliers, create a loop. This completes one bead connector.
Step 4. Repeat Steps 1-3 to create multiple bead connectors (anywhere from 5-8).
Step 5. Connect the beads together. To do so, use the pliers to open up a loop and attach to another one. Close the loop to secure.
Step 6. Trim 5 strands of chain measuring 1.5-2 inches long (3.81 – 5.08 centimeters).
Step 7. Using the pliers, open up a 6mm jump ring and attach to the end of one chain.
Step 8. Close the jump ring and add to a hoop earring.
Step 9. Add a few 4mm jump rings to the hoop earring, followed by another chain (also attached to a 6mm jump ring).
Step 10. Add a few more 4mm jump rings, followed by the strand of bead connectors.
Step 11. Repeat with the remaining chains, and until you have reached your desired sequence and look for your chain earrings.
Step 12. If needed, trim the ends of the chain.
The waterfall of chain creates an awesome visual.
Feel free to mix it up and personalize the fringe chain earrings to make it all your own. For a more cohesive look, you can use just one type of chain. You can also use more beaded strands than chain for added depth and dimension. It’s all up to you!
Enjoy your new fringe chain earrings!
