With summer in full swing, who doesn’t love to wear lots of different jewelry while sporting a really nice tan? I know I love to wear jewelry and jewelry that’s fun too. For this project, I thought why not combine bracelets with some mini tassels for a really cute summer look? This is a fun tutorial because the bracelet comes together in no time and with the tassels, you can customize the bracelet to coordinate with anything in your wardrobe. Let’s get started and see just how easy it is to create this fun DIY tassel bracelet.
DIY Tassel Bracelet Supplies:
- Darice Value Pack of Embroidery Floss
- Darice Stretchy Cord
- Darice Metal Daisy Beads
- Darice 7mm Gold Jump Rings
- Round Nose Pliers
- Piece of Cardboard
- Scissors
- Super Glue
Step 1. Cut about 9″ to 10″ of stretch cord and thread the entire 7″ strand of beads.
Step 2. Once all of the beads are on the cord, tie three or four knots in the elastic cording. Apply a little super glue on the knots so they don’t come untied. Let the glue dry.
Step 3. To create the mini DIY tassel, cut a 1″ to 1 1/4″ piece of cardboard. Cut two slits. One in the middle of the top and bottom as shown.
Step 4. Wrap the embroidery floss around the piece of cardboard 4 to 5 times and then carefully remove the tassel from the cardboard. You may have to bend the cardboard a little bit to remove the floss, so make sure your piece of cardboard is flexible.
Step 5. Tie a contrasting piece of embroidery floss around the DIY tassel to secure it. Do this a couple of times. Trim the excess thread. You may also want to secure the thread by putting a little dab of super glue onto the knot as well.
Step 6. Open the jump ring using the round nose pliers. Slip the top of the tassel through the jump ring and leave it open.
Step 7. Hook the DIY tassel with the jump ring onto the bracelet and close the jump ring using the round nose pliers.
I think you’ll agree that this is a quick way to create a fun DIY tassel bracelet that you can customize to match any summer outfit! Enjoy!
