Sea glass is so pretty that it deserves a place of honor – how about on a pretty and simple pendant necklace? Use your favorite piece of found sea glass from the shore, or pick up a bag of pre-tumbled sea glass to make a group of DIY sea glass necklaces, perfect for craft show sales or to give as gifts to your friends.
DIY Sea Glass Necklace Supplies:
- Darice Sea Glass
- Darice Small Silver 18″ Chain
- Darice Silver Bail Mount – 18mm
- Darice Silver Jump Rings
- Darice Barrel Clasps
- E-6000 Glue
- Darice Chain Nose Pliers
Day 1 – Make the Pendants.
Step 1. Find pieces of sea glass with smooth edges. You don’t want sharp parts on a pendant you’ll be wearing!
Step 2. Put a dab of E-6000 glue onto the bail mount, and then stick the bail to the back of the piece of sea glass.
E-6000 is an ideal glue for this project because it is made to glue non-porous surfaces like glass and metal together.
Day 2 – Assemble the Necklaces.
When the pendants are dry and securely attached, it’s time to assemble the necklaces. This will just take a few minutes.
And your DIY sea glass necklace is done! You can leave it as is, or you can add more elements, such as gluing mixed media elements to the sea glass, wire wrapping, adding beads, or additional charms. Make it your own!
