As a bookworm, I love the idea of sharing my love of books through the accessories I wear. A tiny set of books makes the perfect pendant for book-lovers, librarians, teachers, and bookworms. This book necklace DIY is so simple to make with the help of Darice Timeless Treasures Miniatures!
You don’t have to be a jewelry-making expert to make this book necklace DIY, but it does help to have a pair of long nose pliers. Follow along as I show you how to create your own!
Book Necklace DIY Supplies:
- Darice Miniature Books
- 18″ Darice Necklace Chain
- Darice Embroidery Floss
- Aleene’s ClearGel Tacky Glue
- Darice Jump Ring
- Long Nose Pliers (optional)
Step one. Glue a stack of three books together with ClearGel Tacky Glue.
Hint: Make sure the books are not stacked too neatly!
Step two. Tie the bundle of books with a long piece of embroidery floss. Wrap the thread around the long side of the book stack and tie a tight square knot. Then pull the strings up around the narrow side of the book stacks and tie another square knot. Wrap each end of the string around the stack again, and tie a final square knot.
Step three. Put one of the strings through a jump ring, and then tie the ring onto the strings with a square knot. Trim the ends of the strings so they are shorter.
Step four. Feed the end of the necklace through the jump ring on the books, or use your long nose pliers to open the jump ring and put it on the chain, then close the jump ring.
Your book necklace DIY is now complete!

I found mini books at Michael’s! Not sure if they’re the Darice brand, but they look identical to the pictures. I carefully wrote the name of my three favorite authors on the books as well!
