Hi there, it’s Lydi from Lydi Out Loud and I don’t know about you, but I’m soooo ready for bright colored flowers and decor, aren’t you? While this heart wreath DIY project is inspired by Valentine’s Day, its bright blooms make it a perfect wreath or wall hanging to display all the way through summer. Darice’s English Roses are unbelievably real looking. From the realistic texture to the intricate coloring, you have to touch them to know they’re artificial. I’m going to be buying more of these in bulk to brighten up the whole house!
Rose Heart Wreath DIY Supplies:
- Darice Heart Shape Floral Forms
- 3 Darice Artificial Green & Pink English Rose Stems
- 8 Darice Artificial Dark Pink English Rose Stems
- Darice Floral Foam
- Wire Cutters
For this heart wreath DIY project, you’ll start by cutting floral foam into pieces sized to fit snugly in the heart shape floral form.
Cut the rose blooms off of all of the stems (a couple of inches from the base of the bloom to leave enough stem to insert into the floral foam).
Arrange roses by inserting the stems into the floral foam. I found it easiest to arrange the larger sized roses first to make sure they are spaced appropriately. Then fill in the gaps with the small closed blooms to fill in the remainder of the heart wreath. Tip: You may end up with a lot of holes in your floral foam from re-positioning the flowers. Place a drop of hot glue on the tip of the stem when positioning for the final time. This will keep the flowers securely in place.
Weave ribbon through the top of the heart wreath to use as a hanger. Hang on the door, a wall or over a mirror!
This heart wreath DIY project is just too pretty to take down so soon after Valentine’s Day.
