Want to add a little farmhouse style to your home this fall? Try making this fall pallet sign. This is a simple project that anyone can make. Just print the free template and follow the instructions below. You will have a gorgeous addition to your country home in no time at all.
Fall Pallet Sign Supplies:
- Darice 14 x 6″ Wood Pallet Box
- Transfer Paper
- Americana Decor Chalky Paint in Black and White
- Darice Paint Brushes
- Pencil
- Pumpkins Sign Template (Download text here and arrow here.)
- Printer and Paper
- Darice Scissors
- Tape
- Rag
Start by painting the wood panel with the white paint. I used a dry brush technique to leave a rustic finish. This is optional, however, if you love that rustic look be sure to give it a try. Just use as little paint as possible on your brush and move it quickly over the surface. You will be left with small areas that have very little or even no paint at all. Keep painting until you are happy with the look. Allow to dry completely.
In the meantime, print the templates onto paper and cut out. Tape into place on your dried sign.
Add transfer paper under the template with the shiny side down. Go over all lines with a pencil and these will transfer to your painted surface.
Use a small paint brush and black paint to fill in all of your lines.
Once the paint is just dry to the touch, use a damp rag in spots to remove some of the paint. Once again, this is just if you want that rustic look for your fall pallet sign. You can skip this step if you would like. I personally prefer this method to sanding. It is easier to control where the paint is removed.
I wanted that rustic look for my fall pallet sign so I removed a little paint on each letter as well as the arrow.
Allow the entire thing to dry completely then use anywhere in your home where a touch of fall is needed.
This fall pallet sign is perfect for those that are looking for that rustic farmhouse style!
