Are you guys as crazy about all things nautical as I am this summer? There’s just something so classic and fresh about anchors, starfish, and coral that I want to plaster it on everything lately. I’ve come up with three easy ways to decorate your Luminara candles that will totally match your DIY summer beach-house theme. Even better, they decorations can still be easily removed so that you can re-decorate the candle for fall in a month or so!
Have you guys seen the amazingness that is Luminara Real Flame-Effect Candles? We have small children in our house so I’m extremely familiar with battery-operated candles but these blow anything I’ve used before out of the water! I couldn’t stop turning my Luminara candle off and on when I first got it, they’re that realistic and amazing. Go check out the Darice Luminara video to see exactly what I’m talking about!
Since I plan on using my candle all year long, I wanted to make sure that any nautical embellishments I use are completely removable. I love the nautical look but definitely plan on decorating these candles for fall and Halloween so I had to make sure nothing was attached permanently or in a destructive manner!
3 Nautical DIY Summer Candle Ideas.
A Star is Born.
This starfish adorned candle is super easy to make with just some Darice Coral Starfish jewelry connectors and Darice Jute ribbon. The ribbon is held in place with a strip of Hercules double sided tape and the starfish are attached with some split rings.
Definitely a simple but fun way to bring the seashore inside!
Message at Sea.
Celebrate your love of the sea with a few well placed accessories! I added a bit of texture to the DIY summer candle by wrapping it with Darice jute twine. Then finished with a ship’s wheel jewelry pendant and a message in a bottle.
You could even write a small note on the paper before putting it in the bottle for a sweet customized touch!
How adorable do these miniature Darice life rings look on a DIY summer candle?! I went super minimal by using just white burlap ribbon. But I also thought accenting with some blue Darice chevron ribbon would be really cute too!
