I love decorating with glitter and making a glitter wreath has been on my to-do list for a super long time. I always get so motivated as soon as the cool fall weather hits so it was the perfect time for me to finally check that project off my list! This wreath is one of my favorite Fall wreath ideas because it is easy to make and looks great!
- 12″ Styrofoam Wreath Form
- Orange Glitter
Mod Podge Gloss Finish
- Foam Brush
- Burlap Ribbon
- Hot Glue Gun
Step One: Take your foam brush and little by little coat your styrofoam wreath form in Mod Podge. Cover with glitter as you go. Shake off excess. Cover the top, inside and outside but don’t cover the back. You may have to go back and touch up some spots as you go. Tip: If you have corn on the cob holders, you can use them to help handle the wreath and minimize the amount of glue and glitter you get on your hands. This is one of the more messy Fall wreath ideas!
Step Two: While your wreath is drying, make a burlap bow out of the burlap ribbon for the bottom of your wreath. You will need about 30 inches of burlap ribbon to make the bow. Fold the ribbon in threes, pinch and hot glue the center to give the ribbon the appearance of a bow. Take a smaller strip of burlap and wrap around the center of the bow and hot glue in the back.
Step Three: To keep the glitter from getting all over your house and everything you own, cover the wreath in a top coat of Mod Podge Gloss. Be generous. By using the gloss finish your wreath will keep it’s sparkle and shine when it’s dry. I promise you that it drys clear so don’t panic when you see all of your hard work covered in white glue. (smile) Let dry overnight for best results.
Step Five: Hot glue your burlap bow to the wreath and hang with burlap ribbon.
This glittery wreath is one of the most fabulous Fall wreath ideas out there! What do you think about this wreath idea? Share your thoughts in a comment below!
