Monogram crafts are all over the place! They’re the perfect personalized hostess gift, and they look great in just about any home. With monograms taking over household decor everywhere, we’re lucky a monogram is anything but monotonous, especially this unique Burnt Wood Monogram Plaque.
Burnt Wood Monogram Plaque Supplies:
Step One. Attach your stencil to the wooden plaque using tape or stencil glue. Use a pencil to lightly trace the shape of the letter. Once the stencil is lightly traced, remove it and try penciling in a free hand pattern inside of the letter. Don’t worry if you don’t get it absolutely perfect on the first try – that’s what erasers are for!
Step Two. Once you are happy with your stenciled monogram and its design, heat up a wood burning tool with a wide attachment and use it to trace the outline of the letter. If you want to outline the edges of the plaque, do it now too.
Step Three. Unplug the tool and let it cool down, then remove the wide attachment and replace it with a fine tip. Heat it up again and use the fine tip to trace the design on the inside of the letter. Keep in mind, the harder you press down with the wood burning tool, the darker the color will be.
Once everything cools it’s time to put your monogram crafts up on the wall! The unfinished wood looks particularly striking in an office or kitchen, but we’re sure it will look beautiful anywhere in your home.
