Since the holidays are over now, I decided to get a head start on some Valentines Day projects. So today I’ll share how to make these lovely Valentine’s themed DIY plant pots that are perfect for adding a simple succulent to. They’re very simple to make and you can finish the project in around 20 minutes. Those are always my favorite kind of projects!
VALENTINE DIY PLANT POTS PROJECT SUPPLIES:
- Darice Round Cement Planter
- Darice Succulents
- Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Glitter
- Glue
I found these beautiful succulents on the Darice website that I have been wanting to use for awhile now. These Valentine’s Day DIY plant pots were the perfect opportunity to utilize them!
The stems were a little long so I was easily able to remove them from the succulents. I will save the stems just in case I want to reuse these succulents for another project.
Next I picked out some Valentine colors for my pots. I had so many great options it was hard to choose.
I didn’t need to tape my pots off, I just free-handed it. I did a total of two coats on each pot letting each coat dry 10 minutes.
Once I was finished I felt like the pots needed an extra touch. So I pulled out some chunky glitter and added it around the center of each of the DIY plant pots.
I only needed to add a thin layer of glue using a paint brush. Then I sprinkled my glitter on top.
I just love working with faux succulents. They look great in the house anytime of the year, don’t you agree??!
These DIY plant pots are a very simple project. I like how they look and love that they can be customized to suit your everyday decor.
Thank you so very much for stopping by today! These mason jar gifts are another way to gift a succulent plant (real or faux) for Valentine’s Day!
