I love New Year’s and I love throwing a good New Year’s Eve party some years. I am a big fan of giving the love of your life a big ‘ole smooch when the clock strikes midnight too. New Year’s is such a fun holiday! I always love adding a bit of fun decor to my home for New Year’s Eve. Kissing balls are the perfect addition to any New Year’s Eve party decor in my opinion. Today I am sharing a pom pom kissing ball DIY tutorial with you. Whether you are spending it with a special someone or a large group of friends or family, this fun and simple project is the perfect way to help ring in the new year.
Pom Pom Kissing Ball DIY Tutorial Supplies:
- 4″ Durafoam Ball
- Darice Gold Tinsel Pom Poms (6 bags)
- Darice Silver Tinsel Pom Poms (6 bags)
- Gold Ribbon
- Darice Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
This kissing ball DIY project could not be any simpler. Since it only takes a few minutes to complete, you may want to make a bunch of these pretty pom pom decorations. This is the perfect craft to work on while sitting in front of a holiday movie with a cup of hot cocoa. You don’t need to think much about what you’re doing so it would also be perfect to make while gabbing with some girlfriends at a craft night!
When you remove the pom poms from the bag, roll them between your palms to fluff them up a bit. They tend to get a bit squashed in the bag. Once the pom poms are fluffed you are ready to begin.
You will simply use your hot glue gun to glue the tinsel pom poms onto your Durafoam ball. Alternate colors in a random way for a fun silver and gold look. Use only one color of pom poms for a more uniform look.
After the pom poms are all glued on, take a small bit of ribbon and glue a loop of it onto your Durafoam ball. This will allow you to hang your kissing ball DIY decoration from a doorway, archway, on a window, from a light – wherever you like!
