Hello there! It’s Lydi back from Lydi Out Loud and I have been crafting up a storm for New Years! Every year New Years crafts tend to get skipped over because I’m usually just focused on Christmas. Not this year! There are so many fun craft and decor ideas to ring in the new year. These embossed New Year’s DIY napkins are a breeze to make and the process can be used to customize any party theme or holiday. Emboss all the things, I say!
This years New Years party theme is gold and black so I picked up some plain gold beverage napkins. Darice has an embossing folder with clocks which I knew right away would be perfect to jazz up these boring napkins for New Years. Come see how easy it is to make your own embossed New Years napkins:
Embossed New Year’s DIY napkins supplies:
- Cricut Cuttlebug, Embossing Plates and Spacer (or other embossing machine)
- Darice Clocks Embossing Folder
- Beverage Napkins
Place a beverage napkin inside of the embossing folder. I left out the 3 ridged sides.
Place the embossing folder with the napkin inside in between 2 embossing plates and place on an embossing spacer plate. Keep the embossing folder centered inside of the plates.
Insert the plates into the Cuttlebug and turn the handle to run the napkin through the machine to emboss it.
When you take the napkin out of the Cuttlebug it is perfectly embossed! So much better than plain boring beverage napkins, don’t you think? My mind is spinning with all of the one-of-a-kind napkins that could be made by embossing them.

I hope you all have a very safe, happy and healthy New Years!
