Today’s project is one where I feel a little bit like a fraud calling myself a maker because this DIY wine bottle gift idea is so ridiculously easy. Easy but so adorable! I brought this wine stopper with a bottle of wine to a party last week and everyone kept talking about how cute it was.
In looking through all of the Christmas decorations on the Darice site, I had so many ideas for wine stoppers but these were my favorite because of that easy factor and also, who doesn’t love minis? They’re always so cute!
Lift the hat up in small sections (keeping the rest of it in position so that it doesn’t slide off) and apply a generous band of hot glue around the top rim of the cork and reposition the hat over the glue. Be careful not to burn yourself when you reposition the hat. Allow to dry.
Now here’s where the cuteness level goes up another notch… tie the knit scarf around the neck of the wine bottle. No need for a gift bag for this wine, it’s too cute to hide, don’t you think?! I ran some red thread through the knit hat wine stopper so that I could tie it around the neck of the bottle (it can be easily cut off when the gift recipient is ready to use it!)
Silly easy, right?! They’re also so quick to make that you can throw a DIY wine bottle gift together even for that last minute party invite.
