Are you counting down until Christmas? My kids are! And I am realizing how far behind I am. But I have made it my mission to get on top of things ASAP so that I can enjoy the rest of the holiday season without stressing too much. In case you’re not done shopping and wrapping yet (if you are, know that I think you are amazing!), I have a really fun way to dress up any gift this year! Decorate your own holiday DIY wrapping paper! It is easier than you think and is a great way to add a handmade touch to your gifts this year.
Holiday DIY Wrapping Paper Supplies:
- Darice Brown Kraft Paper
- Darice Floral Pine Spray
- Craft Paint (I used green)
- Darice Baker’s Twine
- Cookie Cutter (I used a tree shape)
After you gather your supplies, you will need to find a large space to create your DIY wrapping paper and to let it dry. I found a spot on my floor that I knew my children wouldn’t walk on and I worked on this project there. A large table or kitchen island would work too.
You will want to spread your kraft paper out on a hard surface. Use as large of a piece as you need. Then put some paint onto a paper plate.
Dip your cookie cutter into the paint and then “stamp” it onto the kraft paper. Repeat this as many times as you like to create a fun, handmade pattern on your kraft wrapping paper. You can stamp your shape in a predictable pattern or in a more haphazard way.
Let your DIY wrapping paper dry completely.
Wrap any gift you plan to give this year with your DIY wrapping paper. Instead of using traditional ribbon, use three lengths of bakers twine around the package.
Cut a piece or two off of a pine floral spray and use bakers twine to attach it to the package instead of a bow.
Without a lot of work, you can give gifts that are thoughtfully and lovingly wrapped this year.
You can easily recreate this DIY wrapping paper with any holiday cookie cutter and any color of paint! Isn’t it so fun!?
Make some super easy clay DIY gift tags to add to your pretty packaged gifts.
