Ornaments are really sentimental in our household, especially all of the hand made ones. I have handmade ornaments made by my great aunt and my mom that I just adore. We also have a lot of ornaments with the pictures of the kids on them and the year they were made. I’m a total sucker for these types of ornaments. I just love pulling them out of the Christmas ornament box every year and looking back at how the kids have grown. It’s truly something to see the change every year. Well, this year I came up with DIY picture ornaments that you can personalize yourself with your choice of colors. This project can easily be created to make lasting memories for years to come. Let’s get started and see just how easy these DIY Picture ornaments really are.
DIY Picture Ornaments Supplies:
- Darice Solid Black Disc Ornament.
- Matte Mod Podge.
- Darice Paint Brush.
- Darice Red Satin Ribbon.
- Scissors.
- Free Merry Christmas 2015 Printable. < Click to download.
Step 1. Print out the free printable provided.
Step 2. Color in Merry Christmas and 2015 with colored pencils or markers.
Step 3. Cut out the Merry Christmas and 2015 from the printable. Also, size an image that you want to use that will fit in the center of your DIY picture ornaments. I took an image and just sized it in a Word document.
Step 4. Mod Podge the cut outs on top of the entire surface of the ornament to ensure that they all remain in place and are sealed.
Step 5. Cut some ribbon and tie a bow at the top of the ornament.
There you have it, handmade DIY picture ornaments that will hold special meaning for you and your family this holiday season. While you’re on a roll making your homemade Christmas ornaments, give these DIY star ornaments a try!
Enjoy!
