The best crafts are the ones that are quick and easy, fun to make, and made for yourself! Pamper your summer skin with this delicious-smelling lemon chiffon homemade sugar scrub. Packaged in a mason jar with a chalkboard-style label, this homemade sugar scrub recipe is simple and fast to make and smells like heaven. Make a jar for yourself, and one for a friend, your mom, or your child’s teacher.
The lemon chiffon pie fragrance oil used in this project smells like a vanilla-lemon confection. You will want to take a bite of it, but resist the urge!
Lemon Chiffon Homemade Sugar Scrub Supplies:
- Darice Glass Mason Jars with Chalkboard Labels
- 2 Cups Sugar (Per Jar)
- 1/4 Cup Melted Coconut Oil (Per Jar)
- 1/4 Cup Avocado Oil (Per Jar)
- 20 Drops Abbey & Sullivan Lemon Chiffon Pie Fragrance Oil (Per Jar)
- 10 Drops Life of the Party Soap Dye – Yellow (Per Jar)
- David Tutera White Chalk Pen
- Measuring Cups
- Bowl
- Spoon
Step 1. Measure 2 cups of sugar into the bowl.
Step 2. Measure 1/4 cup of avocado oil (or any other liquid oil of your choice, such as olive oil) into a cup, and add 20 drops of Lemon Chiffon Pie fragrance oil into the oil. Mix together lightly, and add oil mixture to the sugar in the bowl.
Step 3. Melt 1/4 cup coconut oil in the microwave (about 30 seconds should do it). Add to sugar mixture.
Step 4. Mix sugar and oils well with a spoon until completely combined.
Step 5. Reserve 1 cup of the mixture and set aside.
Step 6. Add 10 drops of Yellow Soap Dye to the remaining sugar mixture in the bowl. Mix until combined.
Step 7. Scoop yellow mixture into the mason jar and tamp down with a spoon.
Step 8. Measure the white homemade sugar scrub mixture into the top of the mason jar. Place the lid on the jar, then wash the outside of the jar with soap and water to remove any stray oil. Dry jar completely.
Step 9. Write the name of the homemade sugar scrub on the chalkboard label with a white paint pen or gel pen.
Place the label on the jar. Then open the jar up again and take another sniff! Mmm!

What’s the purpose of the yellow & white?
Hi Anita, Adding the yellow dye is just for appearance. Adding it to only half of the mixture gives the finished product a nice layered look. It also mimics the look of a lemon dessert!
