You’re going to love how simple it is to create beautiful DIY outdoor lighting to decorate your patio with this summer! Simply combine string lights with beautiful grapevine balls to create rustic, nature inspired light decor that you can enjoy inside or outdoors. These rustic, twinkling lights will make a great addition to any of your summer gatherings.
Grapevine DIY Outdoor Lighting Supplies:
Step 1. Open all of the packages and extend the light strand. There are 20 lights per strand and 7 grapevine balls per package, so you will need 3 packages of grapevine balls to fill the entire light strand.
Step 2. Cut a piece of twine that is approximately 4-5 inches long. Tie the twine around the plastic base of the light bulb.
Step 3. Slip one light bulb into a grapevine ball. There are plenty of gaps on the ball so just choose one large enough to easily slide the light in.
Step 4. Guide one of the ends of the knotted piece of twine around a strand of the grapevine ball. I used a pair of jewelry pliers to guide the string in and out around a strand of the grapevine ball. Tie the twine to attach the light to the ball. Trim off the excess twine.
Step 5. Repeat the steps above until the strand is full. Each strand has 20 lights.
This makes beautiful, natural DIY outdoor lighting for a summer party or for any rustic themed event. You can also use the strand to decorate a table, or pile them into a glass container to create a luminescent piece of table decor. Have fun crafting and creating DIY outdoor lighting for your next event!
Grapevine balls can also be used to make a DIY grapevine wreath for the summer!
