This motorcycle themed DIY Father’s Day card project was originally created by Joann Jamieson for the Core’dinations Core blog.
While it would be a quick and easy task to go to the store and simply buy a Father’s Day card, it would be so much more fun and rewarding to make your own! Parents love anything that is homemade, so why not take a little bit of time to put together a fun and thoughtful homemade card for your dad this Father’s Day? For this card I used a motorcycle graphic, but you can choose any graphic you’d like to decorate the front of the card! If you’re dad is a golfer, maybe add some golf balls or clubs, or whatever reminds you of him! No matter what you put on the card, he is guaranteed to love that you spent time to make a homemade card for him.

Step 1. You want to begin making your DIY Father’s Day card by cutting the pieces for the motorcycle using the Core Essentials darks, neutrals and metallic silver for the chrome detailing. After you’ve cut out your motorcycle parts, you want to emboss a piece of dark gray cardstock (from the Core Essentials Neutrals collection) for the background that will sit behind the motorcycle.
Step 2. Using your sand-it gadget, sand your paper to give it a distressed look. For an even more distressed, vintage appearance, tear the edges by hand around where you’ve embossed the paper. After you’ve sanded your paper, use your dust buddy to cleanup. This will make things cleaner and easier to work with and your adhesive will also stick better!
Step 3. Finish by cutting a card out of black cardstock, distress the edges, and attach your embossed panel and the motorcycle. Finish by adding a sentiment and embellish as desired.
