Whether you’re in flip flops and shorts already or you just got yet another snowstorm, summer is just around the corner and soon you’ll be taking selfies in the sun! Here’s a fun DIY picture frame idea to make in anticipation of the warmer weather, even if your local temperature isn’t cooperating. This easy summer frame only requires a few craft supplies and is basic enough to make with kids. Darice has so many fun foam stickers that you can even customize this picture frame to your liking!
Step 1. To begin with, you can decide if you want to paint the paper mache frame or leave it the neutral brown. I really wanted the fun colors of the foam fruit stickers to pop so I painted my frame white. The choice is totally up to you! Just make sure to remove the plastic picture protector from the frame before painting.
Step 2. Allow picture frame to dry completely and begin to layout your stickers in a pleasing pattern. I found it helpful to work with just one shape at a time and disperse it around the frame equally. For example, I placed two watermelon stickers (seen in image below) on each of the long sides and one on each of the short sides. Then I strategically placed the pineapple stickers right next to those. Make sure you’re not sticking these in place yet! We’re just trying to find a pattern that fills up the frame nicely before adhering permanently.
