Are you guys still as crazy about galvanized steel as I am? I love how it looks when mixed with other farmhouse chic decor. Galvanized steel can be paired with other design elements as well. I made this patriotic DIY flower bucket to hang on my front door but love that it can also work as a table centerpiece. Remove the flowers, add some mason jars, and it’s the perfect utensil holder. Nothing looks better than galvanized steel on a buffet table for your next 4th of July bash!
Patriotic DIY Flower Bucket Supplies:
- Darice Rectangular Wall Planter
- Darice Natural Burlap Ribbon
- Patriotic Stencil
- Gray Paint
- Darice Sponge Dabbers
- Darice Floral Foam 3 x 4 x 9″
- Patriotic Flower Bunch
Step 1. Decide on the design you want stenciled on the front of the galvanized tin. Use paint and sponge dauber to transfer image. Allow to dry completely.
Step 2. While paint is drying, begin assembling ribbon. I added a decorative red and white ribbon to the center of my burlap ribbon for an extra bit of color.
Step 3. Wrap the center section of the bow around a longer section of ribbon.
Step 4. Glue the center of the bow to the center of the tin basket.
Step 5. Wrap ribbon ends around the tin bucket and glue in place.
Step 6. Add a foam block to the inside of the bucket.
Step 7. Depending on the size and shape of your flower bunch, you may need to remove the individual stems and arrange them in the basket on your own.
Step 8. If you’re doing your own flower arranging, I’ve found it useful to begin with the largest flowers first and then work down from there to fill.
Step 9. Add the final touches to your flower arrangement.
Step 10. Your patriotic DIY flower bucket is ready to go! The tin bucket comes with punched holes on the back piece, making it super easy to hang!
Or the patriotic DIY flower bucket could be placed on a table for all to enjoy!
Any way you decide to use it, this patriotic DIY decoration will be the perfect addition to your 4th of July decor!
