Hello, I am really excited to be here today! I was just looking at my calendar and can’t believe how fast this year is going. I am just in shock how fast the days, weeks and months are going. Maybe it’s because I am getting older or maybe it is the new baby, but I tell you my days are a blur (in a good way!) And here I am, already preparing for St. Patrick’s Day. I just can’t believe it! Today I am sharing a really fun project with you. I found the prettiest himmeli wreath and thought it would be so fun to turn it into a cute DIY St. Patrick’s Day wreath! So I snagged a few supplies (many of which I already had on hand) and got to work creating this cute wreath. It didn’t take too long to make and is a great way to add a little green to your decor this season.
- Darice Copper Wire Himmeli Wreath
- Darice Shamrock Craft Dies
- Die Cut Machine (I have a Sizzix)
- Darice Green Ribbon (optional)
- Green Cardstock
- Darice Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
I began by using my die cutter and shamrock craft dies to cut out several shamrocks from the green cardstock. I cut 9 shamrocks out in total but only ended up using 8 for my DIY St. Patrick’s Day wreath. You can use more or less depending on your preference.
After the shamrocks were cut out, I placed them in a curved shape, laying them in a slightly overlapping fashion. After I had them placed as I liked, I used a tiny bit of hot glue to adhere them all together.
I then used hot glue to attach the shamrocks to my himmeli wreath.
This St. Patrick’s Day yarn wreath is another fun way to add some green to your decor for the holiday. It even lights up!
