My 5 minute painted decorative eggs are a quick and easy home decor knockoff of a popular catalog item. These are super easy and affordable to make at home. I was inspired by these paper mache decorative eggs in the Pottery Barn catalog. They are simple and elegant and I knew I could make my own version at home.
Step 1: The stencils are self adhesive so just peel and stick to your ceramic eggs. Press down as well as possible. You will have gaps since the surface of the egg is rounded.
Step 2: Color in the stencil with the paint pen and allow to dry. Then color in again and remove your stencil. Use a cotton swab, finger nail, or toothpick to remove any paint that has seeped under the stencil.
Step 3: The package of stencils has a wide variety of designs. Play around with them by placing them on your eggs for fun combinations. I love each one that I tried!
You can make these Pottery Barn inspired decorative eggs in a rainbow of colors or just one. Vary up the stencils to your mood as well. Just have fun with this quick and easy craft. My 5 minute painted eggs might be based on Pottery Barn, but they are simple enough to be a kids craft!
