I love all things about this time of year (the colors, the bunnies, the warmer weather!) so I decided to make this super cute DIY Easter banner with sweet little spring bunnies on it to celebrate! Two great thing about this project are that it comes together relatively easily and that you can totally customize it with the craft supplies you have on hand. It’s great for Easter and spring but would also look super cute in a nursery or for a baby shower!
DIY Easter Bunny Wood Banner Supplies:
- Darice Felties Bunny Stickers
- Darice Round Wood Banner with Twine
- Darice Green Cardstock
- Artist Chalk
- Darice Pink Grosgrain Ribbon
- Darice Hercules Glue
- White Paint
Step 1. To begin your DIY Easter bunny banner, apply a light white wash over the natural wood. I just added a few drops of water to my paint until I was happy with the consistency, painted on wood with paintbrush, and then used a paper towel to remove as much as possible. I love how this lightens up the flags but still lets the wood grain show through.
Step 2. Use the wood circles to trace the “grass” sections. Cut the top section to resemble grass.
Step 3. Apply blue chalk to the top half of wood banner to resemble clouds. Glue the grass in place on the lower half.
Step 4. Move the “grass” a bit and position the bunny sticker in the center.
Step 5. Cut a 10″ section of pink grosgrain ribbon and thread through the top of one wood flag. Repeat with the remainder of flags and then tie together to form your DIY Easter banner.
Now all you need to do is hang your new banner up and enjoy the season! You see what I mean about how cute this would also look in a nursery or for a baby shower? Regardless of the use, this DIY Easter and spring banner would brighten any room or occasion. Hope you enjoyed the tutorial!
