I love how excited everyone gets when they know spring is coming soon! The cold weather is fun for a bit but come March, we’re definitely ready for warmer weather. Here’s an easy and fun tutorial on how to make a spring egg centerpiece DIY Easter decoration. Perfect for welcoming the Easter Bunny!
- Darice Wood Picket Fence Container
- 4 x 2 Inch Styrofoam Discs – (9)
- Darice Floral Prong Pins
- Darice Green Spanish Moss
- Darice 1/4 Inch Wood Dowel Rod
- Darice Paper Mache Eggs
- Wood Half Circles
- Strong Glue
- Chalk Paint
Step 1. Squeeze all the foam discs into the picket fence container. Wrap with moss and secure with floral pins. I added a slight white wash to the front of the container but you’re welcome to leave it as it is or paint it darker.
Step 3. Paint half circles green and allow to dry completely before applying strong glue to the bottom and pushing into the base of the dowel. I applied a good amount of force so that the base would be below the moss, into the foam.
Step 4. I wanted to keep this DIY Easter decoration minimal and modern but there are tons of different ways you could customize this idea to match your decor! You could use the same colors and add a small “Hello Spring” pennant flag for an added dash of cuteness. Or stain the picket fence a darker wood and use a white wash to paint the eggs for a completely different Farmhouse Industrial look. So many options to have fun with!
