In my household nothing says winter more than a snowman. My girls love everything snow and snowman related. I think we must watch Frosty the Snowman at least a dozen times throughout the winter. They love snowmen that much. After living in Southern California for so many years, our first snowfall in the Pacific Northwest was absolutely magical. We woke up early in the morning and we didn’t just make one snowman that morning, we made a snowman, a snow lady, and a snow dog! So, for this lantern challenge I wanted to make a snowman craft that would last a just a little bit longer for my girls.
Snowman Craft Lantern Supplies:
- Darice Stainless Steel and Glass Candle Holder Lantern
- White Spray Paint
- Black Vinyl
- Orange Vinyl
- Snowman Cutout Templates:
Step 1: Take the hardware off and apply two coats of spray paint onto the globe. Let it dry.
Step 2: Using the snowman craft templates from above, use a vinyl cutting machine to cut the eyes, mouth and nose. If you don’t have a vinyl cutting machine, you can still cut these with an X-acto knife by hand.
Step 3: Carefully remove the vinyl pieces off of the backing and place the pieces onto the globe. I just eyeballed this.
And there you have it! A fun simple way to decorate a lantern. These would look great on the step or the walkway to your house. Plus, if you light these snowman craft lanterns, they will glow!
Enjoy!
