Gobble, gobble my crafty friends! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is literally right around the corner? That also means football is a main event in many people’s homes this time of year. So that’s exactly what inspired today’s paper plate turkey craft with foamie football feathers! Two of our favorite things mashed together to make an awesome kid friendly craft project!!!
Don’t know where to start? Too much on your to-do list today? No worries, with our simple step-by-step tutorial, you will be able to pull together this football themed paper plate turkey and win the crowd over in no time!
Paper Plate Turkey Craft Supplies:
- Large Paper Plate.
- Brown Tissue Paper.
- Darice Foamies Football Shapes.
- White, Red, Orange and Black Craft Foam.
- Darice Kid’s Craft Scissors.
- Darice Felties Felt Glue.
- Stapler.
Step 1. First have children cut their brown tissue paper into small squares. Set aside.
Step 2. Next put a good layer of glue all over the paper plate. Have your child place the brown tissue paper on top of the glue, until the paper plate is completely covered. Set aside to let it dry.
Step 3. Now grab your black, white, red and orange craft foam. Go ahead and cut out two eyes, two turkey legs, a triangular beak and of course – a long wattle from the red craft foam.
Step 4. To finish off the paper plate turkey and give it life, glue on the facial craft foam pieces and legs to the plate. You will also staple on four foamie football “feathers” to the back. Then add other embellishments your child sees fit {think glitter, rhinestones, etc. } Once completely dry, display proudly for ALL to see!!
Kids will also have a blast with this photo booth football craft, perfect for football parties and tailgating fun!
