Create this rustic cutting board DIY gather sign in just minutes to add to your fall and Thanksgiving decor!
Hi Darice friends! It’s Lydia back from Lydi Out Loud and I hope that you’re enjoying the fall season. Fall is without a doubt one of my top 2 seasons to craft and decorate for and when I saw this beautiful decorative wood cutting board I knew it would make a beautiful addition to my fall decor. This DIY gather sign would also be great for a Thanksgiving centerpiece or a hostess gift.
DIY Gather Sign Supplies:
- Darice Decorative Wood Cutting Board
- Cricut or Other Cutting Machine
- Gather Cut File
- Iron on Material (I used white and glitter gold.)
- EasyPress or Iron
Open the cut file in Cricut Design Space. Adjust the elements of the image as you’d like.
Remember to always mirror the image whenever you’re using iron-on material before you cut.
Place the liner side (shiny side) face down on the cutting mat, select the material you’re cutting and cut. Weed away the negative space around the design of the iron on material. Position the image onto the wood cutting board where you’d like it.
Press on medium-high heat (or 300º if you’re using the EasyPress) for 30 – 40 seconds for both colors (if you’re using an iron be sure that the steam setting is off). Press the wording first and gently peel back the liner. If the material lifts at all with the liner, press for another 10 seconds and try again. Keep the lining from the lettering. Position the leaf flourishes and place the lettering liner over the wording to protect it from scorching and repeat the press.
And that’s it, it’s that simple! How would you use this cutting board DIY Gather wood sign? Would you keep it or gift it? 😉
