Hiya, crafty friends! I made the cutest paper mache pumpkin DIY centerpiece for fall this week and I just had to share how it turned out! It’s the perfect size for our small dining room table, and I love that it will look great for both Halloween and Thanksgiving. I always try to make projects that will last the whole season!
- Darice Paper Mache Ball Ornaments
- Darice Green Crepe Paper
- Orange Craft Paint
- Darice Gold Glitter
- Off-White Cardstock
- Darice Glue Gun
- Darice Foam Brush
- Antique Sewing Machine Drawer (Or this Long Wood Tray would work.)
- Darice Scissors
To get started on your pumpkin DIY centerpiece, first cut leaf shapes out of off-white cardstock.
Paint your paper mache ornaments with orange craft paint. You may need 2-3 coats to cover the entire thing. Allow your pumpkins to completely dry.
Using your green crepe paper and hot glue gun, form a pumpkin topper and adhere it to the top of your pumpkin.
Embellish your pumpkin DIY centerpiece with additional fabric, grapevines, or other fall decor. Just use what you have on hand. Leaves or branches from your yard would be lovely too!
That’s it! So easy! This would be fun to do as favors for your dinner guests as well. Just make one for each place setting and style it in a cute way on the center of each plate. For Thanksgiving, I think I will add some fairy lights to mine as well.
