It’s crazy to think that we’re nearly into October already, but it’s coming up and my kids are already discussing their Halloween costume ideas! Before we get too crazy with Halloween, I thought it would be fun to put together some homemade trick or treat bags. This pom pom bag takes 30 minutes or less to make and is all no sew. All you need is a simple bag, some yarn pom poms, and hot glue!!
Homemade Trick or Treat Bags Project Supplies:
- Darice Yarn Pom Poms (in green, orange, and black)
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
- Darice White Tote bag
Optional:
- Letter Stencil
- Black Acrylic Paint
- Paint Brush
Step 1. I started by gluing pom poms in a pattern around the top of the bag. I’d place a large dollop of glue directly onto the bag then firmly press a pom onto the glue.
Step 2. Continue this pattern around the top of the bag and then continue in with a second row of smaller poms below the first row of large pom poms.
Step 3. You can either stop at this point or you can personalize your homemade trick or treat bags with a cute stenciled monogram. I stenciled an E in black craft paint onto the bag for my daughter.
These homemade trick or treat bags took no time at all to make and they’re super cute and fun! You can add different color combinations too if you prefer something non-Halloween specific. The options are endless!!
