It is not too late to make a DIY haunted house project for Halloween this year. This project even lights up to add to that spooky factor. It is actually easy enough that you can get the kids involved in helping make it as well. Now that sounds like a super fun project that the whole family will love!
- Darice Unfinished Wood House
- Darice Black and White Craft Paint
- Foamies Halloween Stickers
- Darice Craft Wire
- Hot Glue and a Glue Gun
- Darice Battery Operated Tea Light
- Drill with a Hole Bit
Then mix a white with a little black for a soft grey and paint around the windows and doors. You can also whitewash your house with this mixture by adding a little on top of the black and immediately wiping most of it away with a rag. The picture below has this effect on the right and not on the left. You can see what a difference this can make.
I also added some bats flying around the top of my house. Use a piece of wire and attach two bat stickers to one end back to back as shown below. Curl the other end to give you a surface for the glue.
You can also just let the kids paint the house and add stickers wherever they want. Remember that the painting does not have to be perfect on this haunted house project and in fact looks spookier the more imperfect it is.
