If you enjoy fairy gardens, you’ve probably already considered changing out the accessories used to match the seasons and holidays. Who says fairies can’t enjoy Halloween? This fairy garden pumpkin house project is tons of fun to make by yourself or with the kids for Halloween. You could even get a few of your favorite “witches” together to make a craft night out of it!
- Reusable Carvable Pumpkin (A paper mache pumpkin would work too!)
- Darice Faux Stones
- Darice Fairy Garden Door
- Miniature Halloween Accessories (Like skulls and brooms.)
- Darice Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Hand Saw
- Orange Paint
Step 1. Carefully use the hand saw to remove the lower section of the pumpkin. This is to create an even surface for your pumpkin house to sit upon and allows for the flat bottomed door to touch the ground. This is also a great way to add light to the inside of your pumpkin if you decide to add windows!
Step 3. Once you’re happy with your stone work, begin adding smaller accessories in front of the stones. I added a small pumpkin, mouse, gravestone, and broom to mine. Depending on the size, you might have to trim back the bristles of the broom to an appropriate size next to the door.
I love sharing tutorials that are just jumping off points for you to totally customize and make your own. This Halloween fairy pumpkin house is exactly one of those projects! There are so many different accessories and miniature props available on Darice that no two pumpkins will be the same. Hope you have fun making one of your own!
Another fun fall project to make that uses miniatures is this DIY fall vintage produce truck.
