If you’re anything like me, you’re usually working on your kids’ Halloween costumes right up to the last minute which leaves very little time to come up with a costume for yourself, right? This DIY witch hat fascinator is perfect for us! It’s easy to make with just a few craft supplies and a glue gun. Plus, it’ll look super cute while you’re trick or treating with your little ghouls!
DIY Witch Hat Fascinator Supplies:
- Darice Abaca Witch Hat
- Black Glitter Tulle Netting
- Darice Hackle Feather
- Black Mini Pom Pom Garland
- Darice Glitter Spiders
- Headband with Wire Teeth
Step 1. Before we start actually making the DIY witch hat fascinator, I want to mention that this project has so much potential for customization. Don’t want to use glitter spiders? These candy corn pieces would work great too! Darice has so many different supplies to make this hat 100% your own. To make my version of this hat, I began with a piece of tulle wrapped around the cone base a few times before securing with a bow. I left the bow ends long so that I could wrap them around the back of the hat to use as a tail.
Step 2. Use hot glue to secure the pom pom garland around the rim.
Step 3. Take the feather piece and fold it in to make smaller. Secure the creases with hot glue.
Step 4. Use more hot glue to secure folded feather section to the hat behind the tulle.
Step 5. Squeeze a generous amount of hot glue to the back of one of the spiders and position at the center of the bow. Hold the spider in place while the glue hardens completely. Add more spiders until you’re happy with the look.
Step 6. Place the DIY witch hat fascinator on the headband and glue in place with an ample amount of hot glue. I decided to place mine slightly tilted to the side of the headband but you could also place it straight upright if you like the look of that better.
Wasn’t this DIY witch hat fascinator super easy to make? Now, you can be just as festive as your kids on Halloween night!
