I am so excited to share my latest project with you guys… A spooky flamingo vulture craft!! At the beginning of the Summer I bought two of the Darice metal lawn flamingos for my front flower bed. I just love them and get so many compliments when friends come over. I decided I wanted to switch out my lawn flamingos for every holiday. Vultures for Halloween, Santa for Christmas, and maybe even love flamingos for Valentine’s Day. The possibilities are endless really.
Let’s get started!
Halloween vulture craft supplies:
- Darice Metal Flamingo
- White Darice Feather Boa
- Darice Bristle Brush
- DecoArt Black Outdoor Living Paint
Step 1. I used the DecoArt Outdoor Living paint for this step.
Paint the backside of the flamingo with the outdoor paint- I only needed two coats.
This paint works great and really holds up against bad weather.
Step 2. Now let’s add our feathery boa!
All I did was wrap the boa around the neck, no glue was even needed! If the boa get’s messed up I can just switch it out no problem!
I would recommended keeping this on the porch away from the rain just to be on the safe side.
Now I’m ready to take it outside and display it!
I’m pretty pleased with how this project turned out. It’s a fun take on Halloween decor, but totally fits in with my coastal style. If you follow my blog then you’ll know I’m all about fitting in coastal style with each holiday.
As always thank for stopping by! If your looking for another fun POP of color Halloween project then check out this tote bag I made last week.
