Hey friends, it’s Natalie from Doodlecraft, showing you a fabulous DIY vase decor piece that can change with the seasons…but is perfect for Autumn. This metallic dipped cement autumn vase is a wonderful combination. It’s the perfect holiday centerpiece, entryway decor or even handmade gift idea!
Autumn DIY Vase Decor Supplies:
- Darice Cement Geometric Vase Planter
- Metallic Craft Paint (gold, bronze, copper, or rose gold)
- Styrofoam Ball
- Painters Tape
- Various Darice Autumn Florals or Faux Tillandsia Plant
Use metallic craft paint to paint 2 coats on the base of the cement, letting them dry between layers. Paint using strokes starting at the center of the painters tape and moving down the cement. This keeps the paint from pushing up under the painters tape and ruining that perfectly crisp paint line. Let dry, then remove the painters tape.
Next, use the foam ball and push it down inside the vase. Then add the autumn florals, leaves or even branches to the vase. The foam ball will keep everything in place and looking perfect. This makes a perfect table centerpiece for holiday meals too.
Enjoy this metallic DIY vase decor all year round by switching out the florals. I love plants and succulents but can’t seem to keep them alive. Darice has the best selection of faux succulents that look fabulous. I love this tillandsia plant I got from them and it’s perfect for this metallic vase year round.
