Hi all, it’s Angie! I had the pleasure of attending the Creativation 2019 trade show last week. This is a show where a ton of the craft brand manufacturers display their new and existing products. It is a great place to spot 2019 craft trends for the upcoming year. Since the show floor is only open to craft industry professionals, I thought I would take you behind the scenes a bit and show you some of what I saw that I think will be hot this year!
Creativation 2019 Craft Trends
I am fairly sure that you remember the adult coloring trend. I think that is being replaced by two things. The first is Diamond Dotz. This is a fairly addictive project that involves sticking small jeweled dots to a grid. There was everything from small beginner kits to huge projects displayed.
The second thing I have seen is color by sticker projects. You may have seen a few books but there was a company at Creativation called Stick Together that had made posters. These are a great zen activity for yourself or even a fun activity for a party!
As a part of the 2019 craft trends I noticed, I saw that quite a few craft companies are trying to go environmentally friendly. From paint to resin, the green trend is hitting the craft industry. If you have ever used an oil based gold leafing paint, you will know just how toxic they are. Plaid is coming out with a non-toxic version this year that is stunning as well!
That really brings me to my next trend which is all things glitter and shine. It was one sparkly Creativation show this year. From paints that are full of glitter to entire booths dedicated to the trend, this is one that is not going anywhere!
Creativation 2019 was full of inspiration and some of the most amazing supplies in the crafting industry. I hope these 2019 craft trends have inspired your creativity! Now, head out and make something grand!
