Here at Darice, we take holiday celebrations very seriously. We get right to it the day after Thanksgiving by decorating our front entrance, the showroom and anywhere we can set up a Christmas tree. We’ve planned a couple of events throughout the holiday season to allow team members to show off their crafting skills! This year we even threw in a friendly Christmas tree decorating competition.
There is one Darice tradition that we have been doing for years, the Giving Tree. We team up with the Boys and Girls Club of Lorain County. The Giving Tree is a gift drive that provides an opportunity for our team members to give back to the community by selecting an ornament that lists a child’s age, size, and gift ideas. This year we were able to make a difference in 150 children’s Christmases.

Christmas Tree Decorating Contest
We added a couple of new traditions this year. One of them was the Christmas tree decorating competition. Each team at the Darice Support Center had to pick a Christmas movie theme out of a hat. Once the teams had their theme – they started to collaborate on how they would like to create the best and most creative tree! Some teams went all out and handmade ornaments, while others decked out their area to complete the look and feel of the movie. Even though it was a competition, all the teams did an amazing job with the decorating. There had to be one winner and our Creative Department with Charlie Brown Christmas tree theme won.
Mini Christmas Tree Decorating
Another new tradition that we introduced this year was Mini Christmas Tree decorating. Team members were able to take a break from their busy days to decorate a tree for their desk while enjoying some hot chocolate and cookies.
