It’s full fledged winter here in Indiana! Are you feeling it too!? It is cold, there is snow and ice and basically I want to stay inside and cuddle with my baby, a blanket and a cup of hot cocoa every single day. I never want to leave my house. So at least while I am hanging out inside avoiding the cold, I can decorate my home for the winter! I decided to try my hand at making my own pom poms and I was surprised at how easy and fun it really was! So today I am sharing my tutorial for a wintry DIY pom pom garland! Isn’t this just so much fun!?
I have seen people create pom poms in several different ways, but basically you will need something to wrap the yarn around. Some use cardboard pieces, but I wanted to create several pom poms at the same time so I decided to wrap my yarn around the legs of a chair. So I began by flipping a chair over and wrapping yarn around two legs.
Then I used a large needle and a long piece of yarn to string the DIY pom pom garland together. I just threaded the yarn through the needle and then took the needle through the middle of each pom pom! So so easy!
Now that you’ve got the hang of pom pom making, check out our tutorial for a DIY pom pom pillow and give it a try!
