I have had the same resolution for the past two years, read more books. When I was younger I would read all the time. Honestly it was rare to see me without a book in my hand. Sadly over the years I have allowed other things to get in the way. I’m sure a lot of you moms have the same problem. We put our kids and other peoples needs in front of what we, as moms, need or want. To help my self remember to take a few minutes each day for myself to read and relax, I made a cute DIY pom pom paper clip bookmark.
DIY Pom Pom Bookmark Supplies:
- Fork or a Darice pom pom maker
- Darice Silky Soft Yarn in Baby Pink, Light Grey, and Dark Grey
- A Paper Clip
- Darice Scissors
If you are using a pom pom maker, follow the directions that come with the maker. If you are using a fork to make your DIY pom pom, start by holding the three yarns together at the base of the fork.
Use your scissors to trim your pom pom, you want it round and all the yarn to be the same length. Hold onto the tails of the yarn you used to tie your pom-pom for easy trimming. Do not cut the tails of the yarn you tied the pom-pom with. When you finish trimming your pom pom, roll it between your hands to fluff.
Use the long tails you left to tie your paper clip to your pom pom.
Need to make a lot of pom poms at the same time? This winter yarn pom pom garland has a great tutorial on making multiple pom poms at once. The crochet heart bookmark pattern is a fun crochet project, perfect for Valentines Day.
